We have never repeated a holiday in 28 years– until 2004. We realised that it may be the last time that we holidayed together as a family as Anna was off to university and Paul to college. We decided to repeat our 2002 trip to Cayo Coco with mixed feelings.
Paul was well up for it because he was too young last time to enjoy some of the attractions. Anna was worried that 2002 would be ruined if 2004 turned out not to live up to the memories. I (Dad) was keen and Mum went along with the idea. Perhaps we should have gone to a different resort so that Anna’s worries were not relevant, but we decided to go back to the Sol Club as well.
So these pages are an update, with lots of photos and new opinions. You may also find it useful as a guide to which trips are worth repeating and, if you read the guestbook as well, this update will lend a flavour of the changes that we found. PS– There are a lot of video clips hidden in the pictures as well... |

The hotel Sol Club hadn’t changed at all, although the bedrooms had been updated |

We departed Manchester, England, at 11-05am and arrived at Cayo Coco airport at 16-00 local time. We went for the first 2 weeks of August and travelled with Thomas Cook. The airplane journey was fine because the plane itself was almost brand new. The crew were bored and fairly unfriendly. |

The pool area was as great as ever although the fountain in the lobby was not working and looked as though it hadn’t for many months.
Again, the pool was mostly kids and teenagers, the beach mostly adults. |
